GlassPoint Solar Inc., a provider of solar industrial process heat systems, said Ausra Inc. co-founder John O'Donnell has joined the company.
O'Donnell will be GlassPointt's vice president of business development, and joins following the company's transition from CleanBoard Inc., a manufacturer of solar-made gypsum wallboard. GlassPoint is a supplier of its solar thermal technology for industrial facilities that utilize large amounts of high-temperature process heat.
O'Donnell brings more than 20 years of experience leading startups. As co-founder and executive vice president of Mountain View-based Ausra, he was responsible for securing a funding round led by Khosla Ventures and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, which both have offices in Menlo Park.
He began his career at the United States Department of Energy's Princeton University Plasma Physics Lab.
